about Salkhan Fossils park
Salkhan Fossils Park, officially known as Sonbhadra Fossils Park, is a fossil park in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located 12 km from Robertsganj, near Salkhan village on state highway SH5A in Sonbhadra district and around 100 km from Varanasi towards south. It is believe that this fossils park are estimated to be nearly 1.4 billion years old. The fossils appear as rings on the boulders and are scattered in Fossil rings on boulders in the park.
This fossils park is located in forest area of Sonbhdra district and there are tribal area and this can be an excursion trip from Varanasi. there has been so many research going on at fossils park .Its an interesting place for those love this kind of fossils .
we were on fam trip ograniesed by Uttar Pradesh Tourism Government and our tour started from Varanasi Sarnath .we drove to Chunar fort where we had interstaction session of learning about the different kingship at fort and later on we saw cave painting of Lakhaniya dari and fially arrived at fossils park .we welcomed traditionally by tribal dance and traditionally welcome drink and we had traditional bati chokha lunch at fossils park. we were escorted to the fossils park and learn about it from researchers .
